Hyde Park Bakery was established in March 2012 and has been growing ever since. The bakery is owned by experienced bakery operators, Mark and Amanda Obst and business partner, Nick Lakes. They have taken over the bakery and lead it to great success. Mark has been baking for over twenty years and together with Amanda, they have been involved in their own bakeries for the last fifteen years. They started their first bakery, St Georges Bakehouse, and built an enviable reputation within the baking industry. To date they own Otto’s Bakery in Hahndorf and Balhannah Bakery at Balhannah, both located in the scenic Adelaide Hills. Nick has been in the hospitality industry for the last fifteen years and has implemented many fresh and new ideas into the classic bakery setting.
The trio have renovated the Hyde Park Bakery and what a transformation they have done. Upon walking in you immediately notice the beautiful wallpaper lit by the elegant pendant lighting. The large well-lit cabinets housing a huge selection of bakery goods offer something for everyone There is a vast variety of hot pastries, including your classic meat pie, a variety of chunky steak flavours and the ever popular pasty. A sandwich bar has been installed, which offers a range of healthy alternatives as well as catering for any dietary requirements. The sandwich bar is the go to place for a delicious selection of breakfast options, premade rolls, flats, wraps and sandwiches or alternatively, you can make your own fresh or toasted combination.
The cake selection is something the locals are talking about. Everything from the old favourites - donuts, finger buns, vanilla slice, kitchener buns, mocha eclairs and jelly cakes , our delicious petites, and salted caramel cheesecake. Hyde Park Bakery does not only offer great lunch options, the coffee is delicious. Our trained baristas use a blend of Vittoria coffee beans to create a creamy, smooth coffee. Along with coffee, they create other beverages, such as milkshakes, fruit smoothies and iced drinks.
